Cleaner/desmut/dealloy for Aluminum

Aluminum Cleaner (RDZ-1593) is primarily designed to remove loose residue, oxide, and alloy constituents from Aluminum Metal surfaces. During use, it should assist in hydrating, and sealing the surface by growing the AlO3 to Al(OH)3, as is done in sealing after anodizing. The product is largely Nitric Acid, which will dissolve essentially any metal on the surface, except for pure Aluminum. Penetration into crevices is assisted by extreme low surface tension surfactants.

MAKE-UP:
Use as received, at 100%. May be used at room temperature, or heated SLIGHTLY, to 120 degrees F maximum.

OPERATION:
Aluminum Cleaner (RDZ-1593) will never really be "consumed", major consumption will be from dragout from the tank. Periodic titration and/or checking of the density of the solution should be done.

EQUIPMENT:
Polyethylene, polypropylene, or 300 series Stainless Steel.

SAFETY:

Use caution, Aluminum Cleaner (RDZ-1593) contains Nitric Acid, which in higher concentrations can be an oxidizer. Consult Material Safety Data Sheet for further information.

DISPOSAL:
Aluminum Cleaner (RDZ-1593) must at least be neutralized before disposal. May contain heavy metals, which will need to be filtered, depending on alloys treated. Some jurisdictions have restriction on dumping of Nitrates. Dispose of in accordance with Federal, State and local regulations. Contact your RD Chemical representative for further information.

PACKAGING:

Aluminum Cleaner (RDZ-1593) is available in 55 Gallon poly drums, Tote Bins, and Bulk truck loads.
