A High Speed Stripper for Full Aqueous Photoresist

RESISTRIP A (RD-96) is a high speed photoresist stripper for use on both inner and outer layers of printed circuit boards. RESISTRIP A (RD-96) strips thoroughly and rapidly with no attack on copper, tin, or tin/lead. Panels stripped with RESISTRIP A (RD-96) will pass through automated Optical Inspection with negligible false defects, therefore improving throughput. Panels stripped in RESISTRIP A (RD-96) will etch, or oxide, uniformly without inhibition from the anti-tarnish system. Since RESISTRIP A (RD-96) contains no Glycol Ethers, use ink and brush for touch up. If pens are used for touch up, Resistrip PC (RD-76) should be used (this product has a small amount of Glycol Ether).

MAKE-UP:
RESISTRIP A (RD-96) is made up at 5% - 10% by volume.

OPERATION:
Use at 120º - 140º F for best results. Typical stripping time, for 10% concentration at 140º F., is 15 - 30 seconds for 1.5 mil film. Thinner film will strip faster; thicker film will strip more slowly. If a defoamer is required, use RD Chemical's Defoamer A (RD-28).

Tank stripping: Ideally a two or three tank system is best, although a one tank system may be used.

CONTROL:
Normally RESISTRIP A (RD-96) is used until stripping is too slow and then dumped, however, a pH controlled feed-and-bleed system may be used. The pH limit should be set between 12.0 and 12.4 depending on the speed desired.

EQUIPMENT:
Tanks may be made of polypropylene or stainless steel. Quartz, titanium or stainless steel immersion heaters may be used.

SAFETY:

Exercise caution when handling. RESISTRIP A (RD-96) contains strong alkaline ingredients. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Wear protective clothing when using RESISTRIP A (RD-96). Eye protection is required (goggles or full-face shield). Consult Material Safety Data Sheet for further information.

DISPOSAL:
Used solutions may contain dissolved heavy metals. Dispose of solutions in accordance with Federal, State and local regulations. Consult Material Safety Data Sheet or contact your RD Chemical representative for further information.

PACKAGING:

RESISTRIP A (RD-96) is available in 15 and 55 gallon drums.
